Sedation Dentistry in Medford, OR
Comfortable Dental Care Without Stress & Anxiety
Dental Anxiety Is Natural — And More Common Than You Might Think
Did you know that around 75% of people suffer from some degree of dental anxiety or dental phobia? That’s right, nearly everybody is at least a little nervous about visiting the dentist. But too many people let their dental anxiety keep them from seeing the dentist, which often leads to:
- Increased risk of cavities and tooth decay
- Gum disease and gum recession
- Toothaches and other painful symptoms
By seeing a dentist regularly, you’ll be in more control of your dental health and can catch cavities and other issues early, allowing you to opt for more minimally-invasive treatment options.
If you’re one of the many people affected by dental anxiety, Dr. Catt can help you overcome any apprehension you’re feeling. We can help you:
- Reduce stress and anxiety before your visit
- Relax during your appointment
- Feel confident about the care you’re receiving
Don’t let dental anxiety control your life. Call Dr. Catt today (541) 772-8846 to learn more and to schedule your appointment.
Our Approach to Stress-Free Dentistry
Over the years, Dr. Catt and his experienced, caring, and gentle team have learned one thing: a smile and a friendly face goes a long way towards overcoming dental anxiety.
Many people who thought they’d need medication to help them overcome dental anxiety actually enjoyed their visit to our office. Why? Because we’re honest, explain what we’re going to do, and let them be an active participant in their care.
Getting to watch movies, listen to music, and wear noise-cancelling headphones can help, too!
If you’re nervous about seeing the dentist, let’s start with a conversation and talk about how we can help. You might be surprised by how easy dentistry can be.
Nitrous Oxide
Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide can really help you relax during your treatment. It’s an odorless gas you breathe through a small and comfortable mask over your nose.
You’ll feel relaxed and even a little giddy. But you’ll still be able to communicate with Dr. Catt and let him know if you’re feeling uncomfortable.
Nitrous oxide starts to wear off as soon as the mask is removed and you’ll be back to normal in just a few minutes.
Oral Medication
If you’re nervous before your visits, you might benefit from an anxiety-reducing prescription medication. Just a single pill taken before your appointment can make a world of difference.
Be aware that some oral medications can take time to wear off, so you might need someone to drive you home after your appointment. Ask Dr. Catt to learn more.
